Salamat Manong Driver
January 26, 2010If I were to count kung ilang beses na halos mawala sa possession ko ang telepono ko, hindi na siguro kasya ang 10 fingers ko para mabilang. Still, good thing na madami pa din honest na tao. Siguro it so happen din na kilala ko sila that’s why they also call me everytime I left my phone. Kasama ng pagtawag nila sakin ang nakukuha kong pagmumura sa katangahan ko. Ulyanin inshort. Pero ok lang, still, ibinalik nila J
Last Monday, usual na gawain ko sa umaga after ko mag travel from Bataan, 6 in the morning, dumaan ako for coffee at McDonald then diretso sa pilahan ng tricycle jan sa Boni MRT. I was seated beside the malaking mama. Meaning, nasa pintuan na ko at malapit ng lumabas ang butt ko sa laki nya. There were also tricycle drivers adjacent to where we were positioned. Taking coffee, chit chat, usual usapang mama. My sling bag is of course hanging pa din sa leeg ko. What I didn’t notice is that I wasn’t able to close my bag. My Iphone was there as well as my Mrt card (may 75 pesos pa yun). My purse, it’s with me. Finally, puno na ang upuan, so let’s move manong!. J So ready na. siguro kakagalaw lang ng tricycle when somebody shouted at our driver to stop. I thought it’s because konti na lng mababangga yung tricycle namin sa kotse pero hindi kasi malayo pa naman. I just waited sa kung anong susunod na mangyari. Then one of the driver approached me and handed me my phone. Shorcks! Nahulog pala sya. I was so speechless that time kasi kinakabahan and sa sobrang pasasalamat. I only uttered dalawang “ ssalamat” sa nagbigay. Pero gusto ko ng mag rent ng banda at bigyan sila ng pagpupugay sa sobrang pasasalamat. I checked my bag and I knew that my card was also missing. Before our driver started the engine again, another driver handed me my mrt card. Wow, ssalamat J.
While I was in the tricycle, I couldn’t help but think of the what if’s. Iphone kaya yun. Pag ibenenta yan, pera pa din yun. The driver told me “buti sa pilahan nalaglag yan. Madami ng nakakahulog don pero nababalik naman”. Ssalamat J
After ko makababa sa tricycle when I reached st. Jude, lumapit ako sa driver. Just told him one thing na alam ko dapat. “Manong ssalamat. Pakisabi din pos a kanina, salamat ng madami”
I just learned one thing after this experience. Minsan kasi I judge people the way they look which is alam ko hindi tama. At yun nga, hindi nga tama. So babalik tayo sa kasabihang… “Don’t judge the book by its cover”. Bow
