A Not so Happy Feet

December 28, 2009

This is my 1 pc happy feet sandals…

and this is MRT Edsa - Cubao Station.

Last Dec 23, I am one of the thousand of people who were so atat to go home to the province and spend Christmas with their loved ones. I decided that I’ll be having 730 to 430 schedule that day since on a normal “MRT day”, trains will only be swamped with people by 500PM. I arrived at the station around 445. I’m surprised cuz it’s not so normal for a Wednesday @ 445 pm TO BE FLOODED  with so many passengers. I decided again to have a round trip ride. BONI to Taft, Taft to Cubao. I was positioned in the male area. The moment the train stopped, in a one click of a finger, BAM! Puno ang MRT. Panalo.Hanep! Ok lng since I was able to take a nice seat naman. So here goes the choo choo train. At every station, people were shouting, screaming “HOY        MAY LALABAS!, TABI! OR WAG MUNA KAYONG PUMASOK, MADAMI PANG LALABAS!!” … whew!

Boni again, shaw, ortigas, santolan then wow… Here comes Cubao station. The people near the exit managed to get at the platform peacefully. I was there standing, waiting for the man standing infront of me to go out (nakaharap kasi sa pinto kaya I thought, he is also waiting for the others to move out). Ayun, Hindi pala. He was just standing there with no plans to move. The man at my back yelled that somebody needs to go out (that’s me). He moved and said sorry. In fairness. The moment I saw the exit, I was shocked since there were group of people entering the already. If my memory serves me right, they were about 5 to 7. Ano naman ang kinalaman ng lakas ko sa lakas nila!!! Meaning, I tried pushing everyone blocking my way out. Pero hindi ko nakaya. They don’t want to move even an inch!!! I yelled “ Pwede pong tumabi muna at may lalabas?!!” NR- no reaction, bato. Walang gumalaw. My paper bag was sandwiched between 2 malalaking mama! I pulled it with all my strength (ayokong maiwan yun since andun ang mga make up ko).  Sa wakas, I felt that my right foot already touched the platform. My left? It’s still there, looking for its pair. Huhu. When I was able to completely freed  my self and about to step my left foot at the platform, I felt my sandals slipped from my foot. Ang nasabi ko lang… “UNG SANDALAS KOOO! “ wala na kong ca cIass class. I just hoped that I should have left it somewhere lang sa train. I looked back but huhuhu, I found no happy feet slippers there. So I guess, Nahulog sya ng bongga sa railway. Naisip ko naman, I can request for the guards naman to pick it up for me.

The moment I got out from the train, I was so tired!! nanginginig sa pagod at sa galit. Buti na lng, I brought another pair of slippers in my bag. Pano na lang pag wala akong dala!!! Can’t imagine myself walking along  cubao ng walang tsinelas. I immediately changed my sandals, hindi na ko umupo. I saw the faces of those people na umipit sakin nung sumara ang pinto. GRINNING!!!  Sayang, naisip ko na lng ang pagganti nung nakababa na ko. I forgot to throw my slippers (mabigat yun!!) to their faces!. Pagka alis na train, wala din akong nakita sa railways. I just observed that the “mini kanal” in the railway was moving.Nahulog don. So naisip ko, Karen, give up na. wala na ang sandalas mo L

I stayed at the platform for 15 mins. Called my husband who thought nanakawan ako, called ferna and took a rest. After gaining back my powers and my ulirat, I proceeded to the bus station with a grief. I miss my sandals so much!!!! It’s been with me for more than 2 years. I can buy another pair pero I still love that sandals at walang makekealam.
